Getting Out the Latino Vote

Latinos now comprise 18 percent of the U.S. population, and over 66,000 Latinos turn 18 every month. Latinos are an increasingly important and decisive group of voters, particularly in swing states like Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Colorado. Yet, Latino voter turnout continues to lag behind that of other major ethnoracial groups.

Dr. Michelson has spent the last two decades researching how best to increase Latino voter turnout, including hundreds of randomized field experiments in a variety of geographic locations and in cooperation with various community organizations, from California’s central valley and Arizona’s Maricopa County, to New Jersey and North Carolina.

If you’re interested in learning about those findings, or if you have an idea for a new effort to explore how best to get out the Latino vote, now’s the time to start planning for 2018. Please get in touch!
